Moon Phases

The Moon does not make its own light; it reflects the light from the Sun.
- Waxing - the moon at any time after new moon and before full moon, so called because its illuminated area is increasing
- Waning- have a progressively smaller part of its visible surface illuminated, so that it appears to decrease in size.
- Crescent- the curved sickle shape of the waxing or waning moon.
- Gibbous- having the observable illuminated part greater than a semicircle and less than a circle.Revolution- an instance of revolving.
